Zoo of the Future Extended Until 31 May 2026

New Animals, Additional Education, and an Even More Immersive Experience

GAIA and Event Masters announce that the Zoo of the Future will be extended until 31 May 2026. The immersive exhibition, open since September at Gare Maritime (Tour & Taxis) in Brussels, has been a great success, welcoming 25,000 visitors so far. School groups, families with children and grandparents, associations, and individual visitors have flocked to this innovative and animal-friendly exhibition. The extension also comes with new content and an enhanced visitor experience.

A Zoo Without Cages, Fences, or Glass

Why just watch animals… when you can walk alongside them? At the Zoo of the Future, visitors literally step into the animals’ habitats through interactive virtual reality, augmented reality, and 360° projections. From the jungle to Antarctica and the savannah, the experience inspires wonder without showing animals in captivity.

Jan Van de Broeck, Event Masters: “By combining technology with live experiences, we make stories tangible and create memorable moments.”

New Animals Enrich the Experience

Due to its success, the exhibition is receiving additional content. In the Antarctic habitat, visitors can now meet the seal, albatross, and blue whale, while the white rhinoceros further enhances the savannah experience. These new animals increase the realism and educational value of the exhibition and invite visitors to reflect on biodiversity and vulnerable ecosystems.

Michel Vandenbosch of GAIA adds: “The more we show, the better we understand what is at stake. These animals make the vulnerability of our planet tangible. True wonder leads to responsibility.”

More Insight into Animal Welfare and Species Protection

A new educational zone offers visitors accessible insights into the challenges of species protection and the issues surrounding animal captivity. GAIA aims not only to inspire wonder but also to inform and raise awareness about the impact of human choices on animals and nature.

More Time to Immerse Yourself

To meet the high enthusiasm for augmented reality, the total duration of the experience has been extended by 25%. Visitors now have more time to explore the different worlds and fully immerse themselves in the virtual zoo.

With this extension and expansion, GAIA and Event Masters reaffirm their joint ambition to reach a wide audience through innovative technology and show that education, experience, and respect for animals can go hand in hand.
