Zoo of the Future: How Event Masters Reinvents the Expo Experience

In a world flooded daily with digital content, one thing remains irreplaceable: the power of a live experience. Nothing resonates as deeply as sharing a story together, in a space where wonder becomes tangible. That is exactly what Event Masters brings with the Zoo of the Future: an exhibition that is not only seen, but truly felt.

Between September 8 and December 30, 2025, animal rights organization GAIA, together with Event Masters, will transform 250 m² at Gare Maritime (Tour & Taxis) into Europe’s very first fully virtual zoo. A B2C experience that immerses young and old alike in nature—without cages, without boundaries, and entirely animal-friendly.

Visitors step into three breathtaking ecosystems—the jungle, the savannah, and the ice tundra—through VR headsets, AR applications, 360° projections, and interactive touchscreens. Thanks to the technological expertise of our partner Reality Matters, the animals come to life in astonishing detail.

“Technology is not the goal here, but the bridge: it allows us to feel what it’s like to truly stand face to face with wild animals in complete freedom.“

Jan Van de Broeck, Head of Experience at Event Masters:
“With the Zoo of the Future, we show how wonder and respect for animals can go hand in hand. Technology is not the goal here, but the bridge: it allows us to feel what it’s like to truly stand face to face with wild animals in complete freedom.”

For Event Masters, this project is a showcase of our expertise in creating impactful live experiences for a wide audience. While we usually focus on B2B events, incentives, and teambuildings, here we prove that we can also deliver large-scale public and expo formats that move thousands of visitors.

Jolien Van Luyck, Head of Production at Event Masters:
“The strength of this project lies in the perfect synergy between creativity, technology, and production. With my team, we handled everything from set-up to coordination to flawlessly bring GAIA’s vision to life.”

“The strength of this project lies in the perfect synergy between creativity, technology, and production. “

The project has been designed to operate for at least four months, six days a week. With precise planning and coordination, up to 385 visitors can be welcomed daily. This makes the expo not only a creative and technological innovation, but also a remarkable logistical and productional achievement.

With 30 years of experience in events and expos, Event Masters knows exactly how to translate stories into spaces that move people, stir emotions, and leave a lasting impression. The Zoo of the Future is proof of that: an expo that doesn’t just inform but also transforms.

The Zoo of the Future aims not only to amaze but also to spark a societal debate: how will we look at zoos and animal welfare in the future? Visitors are invited to reflect—playfully and interactively—on the question: “Should animals remain in captivity in order for us to admire them?”

The expo runs from September 8 to December 30, 2025, at Gare Maritime in Brussels and is expected to welcome more than 25,000 visitors.
