Event Masters organizes BEA Awards 2019 Mechelen
Monday 01/10/2018 – The city of Malines is host for the 2019 and 2020 editions of the BEA Awards, the competition that rewards the best live communications projects. The 21st award ceremony will take place on the 27th of March 2019. The BEA Awards leave Ghent and will plant their flag in Malines. Although the event alters his formula, after a consultation of stakeholders from the B2B sector, it keeps his itinerant character. For the MICE-actors of the city, like Congresbureau Meet in Mechelen, Nekerhal en Confres-en erfgoedcentrum Lamot, the BEA Awards will be an ideal moment to emphasize the steps Malines took to develop the business tourism.
Bart Somers, Mayor of Malines: “in recent years, Malines took a big step forward as a Congress city. With ‘Lamot’ we are situated in the top 4 of the best conferences centres in Belgium. By organizing the BEA Awards in Malines, we stress the importance and the prominent place of Malines in the sector of corporate events. Malines has the space, the accommodation and the unique advantages. I dare sometimes say that Malines is the smallest city and the biggest village of Flanders at the same time. That is the unique charm which characterizes our city.”
Several players from the Belgian business tourism sector expressed the desire to entrust a local event agency with the overall coordination of the BEA Awards. For Event Masters (Willebroek), that will take this task upon themselves, the challenge will be big. After a very successful anniversary edition, the committee of the BEA Awards expects this new edition the start for a new kind of awards event: a format that is simultaneously informative, inspiring, innovative and unifying. Bert Knuts, CEO Event Masters: “With a lot of enthusiasm and determination we will organize the BEA Awards in Malines. We are committed to give the event of the year for the event industry a new vibe, where there is a place for both content and entertainment. Event Masters celebrates its 25th anniversary next year, thus the ideal time for us to show us (again) to the whole sector. You simply can’t miss this edition!”
The day of 27 March 2019 will be divided into two parts: during the day the public ‘live’ presentation of the final projects will take place in Congress and Heritage Centre Lamot, followed by the award ceremony and the annual BEA-evening in the ‘Nekkerhal’. The projects for the BEA Awards can be submitted between October 15 and november 15, 2018. The presentation material for the evaluations must be sent before 21 december 2018.
